Skit – Subconscious EP

Skit was described to me as an artist known for fuzing musical influences from a wide range of genres. That idea is reflected in this two-track EP as ‘Calling’ draws influence from mid-‘90s trance and blends classic vocals with deep and tripped-out Dubstep, and ‘Intimate’ is a minimal track blended with a prevalent Burial influence. The result is definitely worth a listen. The EP drops later this month on Coalition-Audio.

HULK & Ennovi – Lonely

It’s been a while since we reported in on what the infamous Hulk is up to. Turns out they’re still smashing tracks as hard as ever. This particular gem is I enjoyed the most when browsing through their recent discography. Teaming up with rising star, Ennovi, makes for an excellent treat adding her smooth vocals over those gnarly wubs. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Asking Alexandria – A Lesson Never Learned (Celldweller Remix)

I’ve heard a couple Celldweller tunes floating around, but this one smacked me in the face with the relentless and energetic mayhem that went into its production. This remix is a fearless and almost reckless jam that is sure to please any hungry Drumsteppers on the dancefloor. Pick up your copy on iTunes.

Camo & Krooked – Cross The Line (Dubstep Remix)

I know I may be a little late for the party on this one, but I couldn’t let this release pass unmentioned. Camo & Krooked pretty much dominated 2011 in my eyes. Every single release or remix they dropped has blown my mind. Their compositions are simply way beyond most contemporary producers, and this release with vocals from Ayah Marar is no exception. The “Cross The Line LP” dropped last week on beat port including a face-melting remix, so make sure to give these dudes some much deserved monetary support. There is an official video for this track, but I’ll leave you with the behind-the-scenes taping of the studio vocal recording session. Enjoy.

AfroWhitey – City Lights

One of the most exciting breakthrough acts in Dubstep are back with another slice of crunk-fuelled synthy dub-funk to have you reaching for the lazers in fine style.

AfroWhitey have already set the Beatport Dubstep top 10 on fire with their first single, Ridin. Now their follow up, City Lights, is said to set to send them into the stratosphere. Why? Well this Florida duo offer a genuinely fresh sound in an increasingly formulaic arena: this is where raggamuffin skank meets southern hip-hop swagger: pure hands-in-the-air material for the end of the night when the lights come up and they’re begging you for just one more.

On the flip, the dynamic UK duo Phatman and Robin (no link) combine with Sludge head honcho Ed Solo for a driving, peak-time roller which ups the edgy atmosphere and sends down some rudebwoy bass to back up the original’s synthy euphoria. These two mysterious men are actually another well-established Sludge act moonlighting under a new moniker: Can you tell who it is yet?

Cutline – Runnin’ ft. Belle Humble

This EP will be the first release from Pilot Records. An innovative new label brought to you by UKF Founder, Luke Hood. The smooth but grinding Dubstep symphony that is Cutline’s Runnin’, backed on this hard-hitting EP by a VIP mix and a firing drum & bass remix from acclaimed producer Rollz, is one colossal statement of intent for Pilot Records. The spine-straightening vocals of the vastly talented bass music vocalist, Belle Humble, carry the track over powerfully mechanised bass stabs, dropping it into a shower of trance synths for an otherworldly breakdown. This intense and immaculate EP drops November 27th.

Johnathan Davis Knows His Shit!

Dubstep 101 beat me to it. With their new album “The Path of Totality” about to drop on December 8th, Korn is touring with Datsik and Excision, making an appearance in Tampa tonight actually… And yes, it’s sold out already. I was thinking about trying to make my way out there to try and guerrilla my way into an interview but I came across this video today which answered most of my questions. To be honest, I had my doubts, but after listening to the interview it becomes obvious that Davis knows his shit. The way he talks about all the biggest names in the genre confirms that he has been following Dubstep (and dance music in general) for some time now. If anyone gets any video or pictures from the show tonight, please email them to us with a description of your experience.

Stadium – Take My Breath Away ft. Blue Pearl

Nearly 20 years after topping the UK dance music charts, Blue Pearl aka Durga McBroom reappears on the debut single from up-and-coming producer, Stadium(no link). This bass-heavy anthem has a really nice throwback vibe, resonant of the mid-90s ravey feel I so fondly remember. All of the remixes are done tastefully, but the works from Seed and Dream stand out the most to me. No word on a release date yet, but keep your eyes peeled for this and more future appearances from Blue Pearl.

Hyper – My World feat. MC Dread (Pixel Fist Remix)

One of my all time favorite labels, Distinctive Records, is about to drop a pretty huge single from legendary producer, Hyper. The track comes with some sick remixes including a Dubstep rework from Pixel Fist. I got the promo a few weeks ago, but I am only allowed to share the YouTube preview with you. Check it out and keep your eyes peeled for when it drops this month.

TrubbleGum – Sharp Attack (Torqux & Twist Remix)

I found this preview in my inbox today, and I must say I was blown away. I have been getting used to the way most Torqux & Twist tracks sound, but this nasty little banger is some next level ish. It will be dropping at the end of the month on Not4Kids Records followed by a new EP from these two creative cousins.

Also, Here is another Torqux remix that dropped today on Beatport. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy.
