Kicks and Licks – Way too Loud EP

Kicks and Licks is a young Californian duo working hard to make a name for themselves in the world of Dub. Paying their dues in San Diego, the group is ending the year on a high note: opening for Nero and releasing their debut album nearly in tandem at the end of this month. The ‘Way Too Loud’ EP makes a solid statement for the group’s ambition, displaying their talents over a range of flavors. The EP as a whole is solid, but ‘Monsters’ really hits home for me with melancholy vocals and strings over some filthy, but melodic basslines.
