Tha Twitchaz are an up-and-coming Dubstep duo haling from Eugene, OR. Having accumulated a hefty catalog of filthy original tracks, but left un-signed, Low Pass Records found them and signed their work immediately.
Tha Twitchaz had a single track ‘Leap Of Faith’ released on the LPR001 Compilation LP (Which held its place in the Beatport Top100 Albums for over a month) which garnered much due attention; and now will be seeing their very own EP exclusively on Beatport March 1st, and all
other retailers on March 15th.
The ‘CuttaFace EP’ features 5 Dubstep tracks, 4 of which that can be
purchased individually, and a 5th one, ‘Secret Weapon’, that is exclusively Album Only. (or download it for free while you still can)
Never slowing down, Playma is back with the newest edition of their monthly ‘playmacast’. Following their standard format this installment contains 35 minutes of solid grimy bangers, including unreleased originals. It’s the perfect kind of bass overdose. Check it out below and if you like it, here’s the download link.
In conjunction with One Human Mind, we managed to pull off yet another fantastically Haphazard event. Featuring video game tournaments for Modern Warfare 3 and Streetfighter 4, we delivered one epic birthday party for hometown hero, Nerd Rage. Big ups to the Pound Crew for letting us run a muck in their house for a night. We had an absolute blast.
It seemed like everything tried to get in the way of letting me finishing the video, but after some non-intrusive data recovery and a week of debilitating illness, we can proudly present to you the video from our latest adventure. Enjoy.
Seriously been listening to Flosstradamus’s remix of Major Lazers “Original Don” on a daily basis for the past couple weeks, then he drops this free EP, holy shit. Grab this for Total Recall, stick around for the ravey bass-heavy minimalism of MOTA and UR Life.
Fresh new High Rankin mix… of last years hits. So not so fresh, but still tasty? Certainly. Plenty of Skrillex, Nero, and Skism in here… pretty accurate recap of who dominated the scene last year.
High Rankin - Best of 2011 Mix
While we’re here lets not forget about his most recent release, that remix with Nadia Ali…
Nadia Ali - Rapture (High Rankin Remix)
And if you’re into studio setups, take a look at High Rankin’s Facebook feed, he’s been posting updates as he works on putting together a studio, it’s quite interesting.
I usually wont post tracks that I expect to see on every music blog across the web by the end of the day, but this track is so righteous that I couldn’t pass it up. For the past year Kill The Noise has been making veteran producers weep with his immaculately futuristic sound. He is beyond a doubt one of the most talented producers in the industry; nearly everything he puts his hands on just blows me away, and this remix is no exception. The other-worldly textures KTN comes up with are nothing short of face-melting, and the progression has this evil momentum that will make you want to move, every time you hear the groove.
Fellow Floridian and long time friend, Nerd Rage, just dropped this raw and intense mix on his Soundcloud followers. I have known Nerd Rage for many years and have had the privileged to watch him grow and progress as a producer and a DJ. Now after gaining international recognition, headlining the biggest Dubstep weekly in Central Florida and touring all around the country, he still remains the same humble and fun kid I’ve known the whole time. I must say that I truly appreciate his attitude. Check out the mix and get your download on! Countdown to Oblivion Mix [FINAL].mp3
Fresh on the scene is Low Pass Records. The brain child of fellow Floridian bassheads Polish Pat and Thee Joker, this label has a lot of potential. Determined to make a name for themselves, they just dropped a massive compilation for their debut release featuring a wide range of talent and styles. With names like KLRGRM, Crimes!, Halo Nova & Keoki, I didn’t know what to expect. Here is what Pat has to say about their label:
The entire point of Low Pass Records is that we’re trying to showcase unsigned artists that have the talent, but aren’t getting the proper recognition they deserve (That doesn’t mean we haven’t brought on big names as well to help fuel the mix), and as the name implies, Low Pass Records is all about Bass and everything EDM. So if it’s Brostep,
Drumstep, or Moombahton, we’ll have it all and everything in-between.
The ‘Now That We Have Your Attention’ compilation LP already dropped on Beatport Jan. 26th, but keep an eye on LPR because I hear they have big things in store for the rest of the year. With EPs scheduled to drop every other week through May and another huge compilation LP set to drop at the end of the month, I wouldn’t be surprised if Low Pass becomes a household name very soon.
Low Pass Records - Now That We Have Your Attention
Kill Paris just put this beautiful banger up on Soundcloud yesterday. It seems like once he got his hands on the voluminous vocals of NY based singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey destiny just took over. With an immaculate touch, Kill Paris worked this remix into an epic slammer that gives you everything you’d expect from this powerful producer. What more could you want… A free download?.. You got it!
Destroying dance floors and causing more ruckus than football hooligans, Evol Intent have been on a spectacular roll recently, allowing themselves room to span genres with the flick of a wrist. and enlisting two of the hottest producers around to rework a pair of Evol Intent bangers.
First up is Reso, making a move on ‘Middle of the Night’, twisting it into a stunning DnB/Drumstep monster packed with grinding drops and beautifully euphoric breakdowns.
Next Knick’s alter-ego, Bro Safari, offers up his remix of ‘Under’. Taking the wide-open beauty of the original and pairing it with tough drums and winding musicality, this one will undoubtedly suit those epic end of the night moments.
Both remixes are deep and energetic, with more than plenty face-melting bass. Both bangers will be available on Evol Intent Recordings February 14th.
