  • Segway of the Sky? – That’s right. For just less than the cost of hospital bills you will incur for recovering from your maiden voyage, you can finally purchase your very own personal jetpack.  I can’t wait to see the fail videos of people trying to learn how to use these things.
  • 21st Century Bionic Companion. – I have to say that I am jealous to learn that kids will soon be growing up with androids. Alderbaran Robotics recently released their award winning NAO humanoid robot for sale to the public. This thing has an extensively programmable personality and if you teach it how, it can clean your room for you or even play tricks on your friends. I see the poor little NAO bot being the scapegoat for naughty children everywhere by the year 2020.  For just under 10 grand, you can get yours here.
  • The Invisible Man – An unusual performance  artist in China has mastered the technique of blending in with his surroundings. It  may look like Photoshop, but it’s really just a lot of patience.

    "Vintage"

  • Peeta at MEM Studio 2009 – Watch one of the best graffiti writers in the world time-lapsed to some glitch-hop as he creates 3D work that plays tricks on the camera lens.   Peeta is the only writer I’ve seen who’s style is so distinct, that a lot of times he only paints one letter.
  • TrustoCorp – This innovative N.Y. based street art team has the locations of all their pieces nicely mapped out in the shape of  a middle finger on their home page.  Make sure to check out their Flckr Photostream.
  • Paleofuture.com – A website dedicated to archiving visions of the future… from to the past.

  • Ego Thieves – The Kings of Dubstep remixes redesigned their site and dropped several new mixes, with tons of unreleased exclusiveness contained within each.
  • A Day in the Life of Diplo – Film project Eight Billion Lives followed prolific DJ/label owner Diplo aka Wesley Pentz around as he goes about his business of travelling the world, finding and playing crazy music, and generally being awesome.
  • Official.FM – A Soundcloud competitor/alternative, with far more free goodies. Premo.

The Link Pool 9/14/10

The LinkPool will be a compilation of links to interesting music and generally interesting things we find around the net, but despite the best efforts of our top scientists, Floridub.com can’t contain all the awesome of the interwebs.

  • Fresher’s Mixtape – Our friends across the pond bring you a mixtape that captures the feeling of Fall. Makes me wanna open the windows and enjoy the crisp air… except I live in Florida, so I’ll just bump up the A/C.
  • Exit Through the Giftshop (Movie) – World famous street artist Banksy brings you a movie within a mocumentary within a documentary, or something like that.
  • Hamilton’s Pharmicopia – Alexander Shuglin is responsible for discovering countless psychoactive drugs, 50-90% of which you may have “sampled” at some point. A Vice Magazine correspondent sits him down for an interview and gets a tour of his lab. Most awesome scene: Being shown boxes and boxes of chemicals Shuglin has syntehsized, such as PCP and MDMA. Science!
