Mars & KillReall – Gorilla Box

XSSR Dubstep takes another strong step forward with their first release of 2012. Exhibiting superior production skills and a taste for grime, this collaboration between Mars and KillReall is designed to prove that the label is a force to be reckoned with.

The title track is engaging from the start with an interesting use of sample arrangements that fit together like a high-scoring game of Tetris. After building into a smooth drop it opens up into a creative and organic sounding chaos that still maintains an up-beat, directional feel. ‘Gorilla Box’ will fit in any heavy Dubstep set like a block in the pyramids.

The release date for this one is April 18th.

Real Trauma – Fire

I was caught by surprise when I stumbled across these two British brothers today. At 16 and 19 years old, these boys are working hard to develop their sound and it shows. After browsing their Soundcloud page, I noticed their compositions are still a little loose sounding, but in time I’m sure they’ll tighten it down. The work they put into ‘Fire’ impressed me and I think it’s the kind of sound a lot of DJs are looking for. Using the right combination of filth and melody inside a contemporary urban vibe, I see a lot of potential for Real Trauma. Make sure to keep tabs on them.

Originally released in 2010, ‘Bounce To This’ is an out-and-out rave track that made a huge impact on dance floors the world over thanks to its rattling Breakbeats, old skool influences and Alaska MC’s energetic vocal performance.

Packed with huge amounts of energy and wave upon wave of heavy synth action, this one will have dance floors running for cover every time it’s dropped. Listen to this track in your car or on any loud system and it easily lives up to its name.

Lazy Rich – The Chase ft. Belle Humble (Habstrakt Remix)

Frenchman and rising star Habstrakt is a name that every Dub-Head needs to know. As a producer he continually impresses me with his cutting edge style. I see much potential for him as an innovator and a visionary for the bass music movement. His remix of ‘The Chase ft. Belle Humble’ is a prime example. It’s just a heavy banger that is obnoxious in all the right ways. With plenty of bass and just enough melody to make you wanna dance, this remix quickly became one of my favorite tunes. Grab your copy when it drops April 9th, and look for a full-length album from Habstrakt to drop on Never Say Die later this year.

Stripe – Let It All Ft. Highly Suspect + Video

Only recently showing up on my radar, I didn’t expect much from this Boston based duo called Stripe. I knew that one of the members founded monster.com and then sold it off to pursue his music dreams, but I didn’t know that he had perfected a party-rocking style that I had never witnessed along the way. After I saw them live I was blown away.

Stripe’s record selection was on point, and their original production topped it off in just the right way, but that is only the beginning. There enormously nasty set left nearly no musical genre unviolated. I remember hearing Queen at one point, and The Beasty Boys at another with The Offspring somewhere in between. Normally I would expect that to be a bad move, but the way it was blended together made the crowd nearly explode.

Their newest Drumstep track ‘Let It All’ featuring vocals from Highly Suspect, dropped recently on MalLabel Music. So grab yourself a copy and if you are going to Ultra, do not miss these dudes set!

Tim Ismag – Break The Wall EP

Anyone who knows anything about Screwloose Records knows that they have an undeniable ear for picking out talent, having given early breaks to Statix, Genetic Bros and the almighty KOAN Sound, to name but a few.

So it’ll be no surprise to learn that Screwloose’s A&R skills are still on point as they pick up Russia’s hottest Dubstep export, Tim Ismag, to drop an incredible five track EP.

‘Break The Wall’ is packed with energy and enough synth-fuelled bassline madness to send dance floors running for cover. Dropping at the end of conference, and just in time for the festival season, this EP is going to put Tim Ismag firmly at the front of the big boy’s minds in the coming months. Get your copy when it drops March 26th.

The Buildzer – 4Eva

Sicilian producer, The Buildzer is set to put Italy’s stamp on the Dubstep map once and for all with this new track and debut release for High Scream Records. With multiple gold records under his belt, this powerful producer is definitely determined to make waves.

The Buildzer’s new single utilizes twisty, grinding bass combined with darkly euphoric chord progressions to create a very deep and interesting mood. Complete with a radio mix and an amazing VIP version, The Buildzer also offers a deep reworking, the enigmatically titled ‘Poison’ version and a remix from fellow Italians Reset!.

The single is a healthy dose of high-quality and melodic production mixed with filthy filthiness. The perfect way to supplement your regular Dubstep diet. No word on a release date yet so keep your eyes peeled.

Profound Audio is back at it with a smashing new release from Monstar - and it’s one of many promised to come from this quickly rising talent. Following up his devastating debut single, ‘Put Ya Hands Up’, Monstar delivers two more disgusting bangers. Both ‘Harder’ & ‘Bastard’ have been inflicting massive damage to dance floors everywhere, and are currently receiving heavy club and radio support from some of the top taste-makers in the game.

Celldweller – ShutEmDown

I am intrigued by this guy. Celldweller’s production seems to be hit or miss, but when he hits – he hits hard. ‘ShutEmDown’ is a good example of when he is on point. Celldweller brings together a very interesting and progressive symphony feel to this Dubstep track, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

If it sounds familiar to you, you’ve probably heard it before. This track is actually featured in the trailers for the new Ghostrider and John Carter movies. That said, he must have impressed the right person at some point but seeing that he has merchandise going on sale in Hot Topic stores makes me think that he may have just sold out to the right person. Though I am conflicted about where I stand on my opinion about him as an artist, his production talent speaks for itself.

Check this track out, and if you like it grab a copy of Celldweller’s new album, ‘The Voices in My Head Volume 2, Chapter 2′, which is available at the FiXT music store.
