Its May already, and with summer on the horizon things in Florida are heating up. Hopefully a healthy dose of Mellowstep will help keep you cool.
Nepa - A smooth lil jam from this young Finnish producer. There’s not a lot of melodic progression, but it’s perfect to zone out to on Mellowstep Sunday.
Astrobear - Chicago based producer, Astrobear, pushes the grime limit on this mellowstep tune with a thick wall of sine bass that has a delicate sawtooth edge to it. Nicely Done.
Specimen A - We’ve told you about this guy before. One of the most talented Breakbeat crossover artists just dropped this lil gem on Funkatech Records. I’m usually’t not a fan of male vocals, but this tune hasn’t left my playlist all week.
Slof Man - A very spacey and bassy track from this up-and-coming London based producer. If you like this check out his new mix.

Skream – You’ve probably heard this one already, but it is definitely worth another listen. Skream dropped this heavenly remix of “Drive” by Alpines earlier this week.
Specimen A – If you don’t know who Specimen A is, you should. He has been making waves in the international Breakbeat scene for years now and started dropping Dubstep bangers in late 2009. We have featured him in previous posts, and he is responsible for my favorite tune of 2010: “Forgot About Breaks”. Here are two remixes he recently completed:
Backdraft – Legendary Breakbeat production duo, partially responsible for innovating the “tearout” sub-genre, just dropped their first Dubstep tune. Backdraft is known largely for the Reggae influence int heir tunes, so the crossover makes perfect sense. When you’re vibing to this tune remember you heard about all these Breakbeat crossover artists at Floridub first. ;)
Kromabis – Fresh out of the Netherlands, Kromabis is striving to make a name for himself with his unique style of Dubstep production. I appreciate the time spent creating depth and melody in his music, and I cant wait to see where it goes in the future. “The Sensitive”, his most recent track is available to download for free.

M-Theory & Mag Mag - Two new names to me, but I came accross this pre-mastered version of their new tune, and it sounds pretty promising.
Pyramid - One of my favorite UK Breakbeat Duos comes through with their debut Dubstep bangers. Pyramid is known for their aggressive psy-breaks like “Volitile” and “The Preacher“, so as soon as I heard about this tune, I knew it would be sick. This one drops April 25th on Funkatech Records.
Calverton - You know how Calverton is. These two Drumstep bangers came out on Jack Knife Records last month, but I wanted to post them for anyone who may have missed that.
DAVR - This young phenom continues to impress me with the amazing patches he engineers. I feel like he can still work on his melodies and song progression, but the filth is undeniable.

Keepin’ this short and sweet, as there is much to do in preparation for the Excision show tonight. HYPED!
“Girl, bless me with your Holy Water.”
